How to Apply

We are very pleased to learn of your interest in the University of Richmond School of Law. The application process has been simplified as much as possible; therefore, please read the following instructions carefully. The Law School is committed to a policy against discriminatory admission practices based upon race color, religion, national origin, sex, age or disability. Information about age, race and gender of applicants is needed by the school for statistical purposes only. An applicant's age or gender will have no effect on the admissions process. The School believes that an applicant's race or ethnic group is a factor that legitimately can be considered during the admissions process to promote the representation of minorities in the Law School and the legal profession. Neither gender, age nor race will be used in an unlawfully discriminatory manner.

You are assured both by school policy and by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act that the information will be confidential and accessible only to school officials, government agencies and others with legitimate educational interest in this information.

To apply, you may either fill out and submit the online application form (via Law School Admission Council) or download and complete the printable application form. (Note: If you experience browser compatability issues, access the form by way of the LSAC home page.) Should you choose to apply online, the Admissions Office will process your application after receiving your mailed processing fee and Dean's Certification Form. You will have the choice of submitting your narrative statement as a part of the online form or mailing it with the fee and Certification Form.

Alternatively, you may download and complete the printable application form. The printable application form is available online. After completing the form, return the application with your narrative statement and processing fee to: Admissions Office, School of Law, University of Richmond, Virginia 23173. The Admissions Office will process your application after receiving your Dean's Certification Form.

Use this checklist to ensure you submit all the required documents.

For priority consideration  for scholarships and grants, your application should be received by February 15th.   All admission decisions are released by May 15. The undergraduate GPA and LSAT are two important items considered by the admissions committee, although the committee is also interested in extracurricular and community-service activities and employment experience.
