Grading Policy
Each law school has a different method of grading. Our faculty and administration have adopted guidelines for grading and have stipulated a mode grade of B (3.0) for each required course.
The following tables illustrate the overall grade point averages needed to place students in the designated percentages and ranks in their respective class at the end of Fall Semester 2008. Class rank gaps are due to grade point average ties among two or more students.

These ranks do not include transfer students, who are not officially ranked as part of the class until graduation. Transfer students are advised of their “equivalent class ranks,” based on their cumulative GPA’s solely from graded course work completed at Richmond Law, as compared with those students in their class who were originally admitted as first-year law students. “Equivalent class ranks” will be used by the law school for all purposes for which class rank and standing may be used, including being provided to prospective employers and listed on one’s resume.
