Reciprocity with Other Law Schools

The Office of Career Services at University of Richmond School of Law is available to students and graduates of other ABA-accredited law schools on the following basis:

  1. Services are available only to those law schools which allow University of Richmond students and/or graduates use of their facilities in a substantially similar manner.

  2. Services are not granted to 1L students.  Services are limited for 2L students during the regular school year.

  3. Requests for reciprocity must be made in writing by the individual’s Career Services Office, certifying that the said individual is a student/graduate of the law school.

  4. Services are available for a period of time comparable to that of the requesting law school’s reciprocity policy.  Reciprocity may be renewed, provided another reciprocity request is received.  Services offered will mirror those of the requesting school’s policy.

  5. Participation in on-campus interviews, job fairs, or similar programs is not included in the reciprocity agreement.

  6. Reciprocal services may be denied to a particular school if there have been an excessive number of reciprocity requests from that school.

  7. University of Richmond and Virginia’s six other ABA-accredited law schools – Appalachian School of Law, George Mason University, Regent University, University of Virginia, William & Mary School of Law, and Washington & Lee School of Law, do not permit simultaneous reciprocity.  Reciprocity requests must be limited to only one of the seven law schools for the length of the relevant reciprocity period.

  8. Services and facilities will not be available from August 1 to November 15 of each year.

Request for or questions concerning reciprocity should be directed to:
