Professor John Paul Jones teaches and writes about constitutional law, administrative law, maritime law, and military law. He has written more than three dozen articles and book chapters on these subjects, and his scholarship has appeared in the American Journal of Legal History, Journal of Maritime Law and Commerce, and Tulane Law Review, among other venues. Professor Jones sits on the advisory boards of the National Institute of Military Justice and the Charleston Maritime Law Institute, and has acted as a consultant to the World Bank, constitutional advisor to Albania, Lithuania, Macedonia, and Ukraine, and visiting scholar at the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency. He has served as Editor or Associate Editor of the Journal of Maritime Law and Commerce since 1995. Professor Jones was awarded the University of Richmond’s Distinguished Educator Award in 1987 and 2008.
