Profile
Professor Margaret Bacigal is Director of the Law School’s Clinical Placement Program and a Clinical Professor of Law. She also teaches and writes in the area of family law, offering an upper level domestic violence seminar. Professor Bacigal is chair of the Virginia Bar Association’s Commission on the Needs of Children, a former member of the Virginia Bar Association’s Board of Governors and Community Service Council, has served as chair of the Board of Governors of the Virginia State Bar Section on Education of Lawyers, and was a member of the Judicial Administration Task Force of the Commission on Virginia Courts in the 21st Century. Professor Bacigal is also a member and past president of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Poverty Law Center. In 2003, she was awarded the University of Richmond’s prestigious Story Award for Public Service.
