Faculty Positions
UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND LAW SCHOOL seeks a full-time clinical faculty member to develop, administer and teach in a new Intellectual Property and Transactional Law Clinic. This Clinic is the latest addition to the Law School's Intellectual Property Institute, which comprises three fulltime tenured and tenure track faculty, offers more than a dozen courses in intellectual property, and runs a certificate program for J.D. students. As currently conceived, the Clinic will provide entrepreneurs, non-profits, authors, and artists with legal services on non-litigation matters involving intellectual property and related transactions. Its clients will come from both inside and outside the university community. The Clinical Professor will playa major role in determining the clinic's specific emphasis and operation.
Required qualifications for this position include a law degree, a license to practice in Virginia (or the ability to become licensed by the time the candidate begins work) and significant experience in transactions related to intellectual property. Entrepreneurial spirit and substantial organizational skills are a must. Prior teaching experience is a plus but not required.
This is a non-tenure track, renewable contract position. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and scope of responsibilities assumed. Interviewing for this position will begin as soon as practicable and hopefully will conclude by May 1, 2009. Interested applicants should send a cover letter, curriculum vitae and list of references to: dmurphy@richmond.edu.
The University of Richmond is committed to developing a diverse workforce and student body and to supporting an inclusive campus community. In keeping with this commitment, our academic community strongly encourages applications from diverse candidates
