The IP Institute’s Virtual Workshop series brings together intellectual property experts to evaluate and comment on draft papers, all without leaving the comfort of their own offices. Read Joe Miller’s Hoisting Originality, review extensive comments on the paper from Justin Hughes and Bobbi Kwall, and post your own thoughts on the Virtual Workshop website.
UR LAW ALUMNI DISCUSS KEYWORD ADVERTISING
Peter Willsey (L’93) and Susan Piascik (L'06) are members of the Trademark, Copyright and Advertising practice group of Cooley Godward Cronish. On April 2, 2009 from 5 to 7 p.m., the pair will discuss keyword advertising disputes and related trademark infringement issues with UR Law students. A reception will follow the program.

Professor James Gibson is a panelist on The Boundaries of Copyright and Trademark/Consumer Protection Law as part of the Symposium on the Boundaries of Intellectual Property held at William & Mary School of Law on February 6, 2009.
Professor Osenga speaks at AALS and Sughrue Symposium
Professor Kristen Osenga participates in a panel at the AALS Annual Meeting entitled, "The Business of Tax Patents: At the Crossroads of Patent, Tax and Business Law." Professor Osenga is the Patent Law Developments speaker and a panelist on the In re Bilski decision at the 2009 Sughrue Symposium at Akron.

The Intellectual Property Section of the Virginia Bar Association presents "The Birth, Care, and Feeding of an IP Career" a panel discussion and cocktail reception for IP students on October 22, 2008, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Faculty Study.
