Partner with an Advisor

The Career Development Office provides comprehensive and strategic career advising to all students and alumni. Students are assigned a specific career advisor during their first semester, enabling the two to form a relationship that lasts throughout the students' law school career and beyond. At Richmond Law, our career advisors connect with their students and care about the students' professional and personal successes.

As part of the individualized advising services provided, advisors are available to discuss your interests, past experiences, and objectives in order to help you develop a career path and job search strategy. Advisors also help students connect with alumni and other professionals in their preferred practice area and geographic location. Year round, advisors are available to review all employment documents and conduct mock interviews.

Through our advisors, the office has an expansive knowledge of the legal market. Our advisors include former attorneys, from both the public and private sector, and a legal business development expert. Regardless of what area of law you are interested in, our expertise and connections will help you in finding both summer and post-graduate employment.

In addition to individual advising, the CDO offers numerous programs, workshops, networking events, and informational sessions for students. Some examples of previously held programs include an alumni mock interview program, nuts and bolts of judicial clerkship applications, practice pathways, small firm hiring and an overview of federal government honors and internship program. New and innovative programs are added each semester to cater to student needs and market developments.
