Corporate & Securities Litigation Summer Workshop Series
This year’s Corporate & Securities Litigation Workshop will take place remotely as a summer workshop series. The workshop will occur every Wednesdays from 12-1 p.m. EDT throughout the summer, with sessions featuring paper presentations as well as more informal discussions with lawyers, judges, and others. - May 27: Discussion of Professor James Park’s book The Valuation Treadmill: How Securities Fraud Became a Problem for Public Companies with commentary by Professor Verity Winship
- June 3: Discussion about insider trading with Professor Donna Nagy, focusing on the STOCK Act and her article entitled Chiarella v. United States and its Indelible Impact on Insider Trading Law
- June 10: Discussion about Delaware corporate law with Vice Chancellor Travis Laster and Professor Afra Afsharipour
- June 17: Discussion with Professor Andrew Jennings about his article entitled State Securities Enforcement with commentary by Professor Amanda Rose
- June 24: Discussion about SEC whistleblowing with Mary Inman of Constantine Cannon and Professor Urska Velikonja
- July 1: No workshop this week
- July 8: Reflecting on the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act on its 25th Birthday; A Discussion with Professor Ann Lipton, Laura Posner of Cohen Milstein, and Audra Solloway at Paul Weiss
- July 15 – Discussion with Professor Alex Platt about his article The Non-Revolving Door: New Evidence of Capture at the SEC, with commentary by Professor Adam Pritchard.
- July 22: A discussion about online teaching of business-related courses with Professors Jennifer Reise, Elizabeth Pollman, and Nina Kohn
- July 29: Discussion with Professor Geeyoung Min & Kwon-Yong Jin about their article, Relational Enforcement of Stock Exchange Rules, with commentary by Professor Jonathan Macey.
- August 12: Discussion with Professor Will Clayton about his article Investor Accreditation and the Public Pension Crisis, with commentary by Professor Paul Rose
- August 19: Discussion of two papers – Private Company Fraud by Professor Verity Winship and Private Company Lies by Professor Elizabeth Pollman – with commentary by Professor Renee Jones.
