Who We Represent
As a teaching law firm sponsored by the University of Richmond School of Law, we help a wide variety of clients who would otherwise be unable to obtain legal protection. Our clients include:
- Entrepreneurs looking to start a business
- Artists, authors, and inventors who want to protect their creative efforts
- Existing business and non-profit organizations with contracting, licensing and similar transactional needs
- Companies looking to acquire or assign intellectual property rights
Whether your issues involve business formation, rights acquisition, licensing, contracting, or legal analysis, we can provide you with the legal services you need.
Although the clinic’s services are pro bono, clients are responsible for all filing fees with agencies, such as the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and Virginia’s State Corporation Commission, and related expenses such as postage.
Please complete the following contact form and a member of the clinic will follow-up to conduct an intake interview. Do not include any confidential or proprietary information on this form. Please note: Submitting this form does not mean the clinic has agreed to represent you and does not create an attorney-client relationship.
*Please Note: The Richmond Law Intellectual Property and Trasactional Law Clinic does not handle matters pertaining to patent law. For questions regarding patent issues, please contact the Greater Richmond Intellectual Property Law Association or the Virginia State Bar Referral Service.
