Profile
Professor Tamika Moses teaches and researches in the areas of criminal law & procedure, evidence, prosecutorial discretion, criminal justice, and policing. Before coming to Richmond Law, she was an assistant professor at North Carolina Central University School of Law, where she was named Professor of the Year in 2023 (Day Program) and 2025 (Evening Program). Her most recent scholarship was published in the Utah Law Review and the Boston University Law Review. Professor Moses previously served on the board of the AALS Criminal Law Section.
Prior to joining academia, Professor Moses was a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina and an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. She also clerked for Chief Judge George L. Russell III of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.
Professor Moses holds a J.D. from Howard University School of Law, an MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a B.A. from the University of Virginia.Expand All-
