A Spring of Virtual Symposia Offerings
Student-run law journals turn virtual for spring CLE offerings
The annual symposia hosted by the University of Richmond Law Review, the Richmond Public Interest Law Review, and the Richmond Journal of Law & Technology are a highlight of the academic year, bringing together scholars and practitioners for a day of learning on timely and topical legal issues. This spring, all three student-run journals are hosting virtual events, expanding access to attendees from across the country.
JOLT launched this year’s symposium series on February 19 with a full day of programming on “Emerging Technology in Law.” Speakers discussed how innovations in automation and artificial intelligence technology are transforming the private sector and access to justice, with a special panel devoted to women in technology law.
On March 5, the Richmond Law Review will examine “Corporate & Securities Law in the Time of the Coronavirus.” The event will highlight panel discussions on everything from corporate social responsibility in employment law to securities disclosures. Registration is open.
PILR will close out the busy symposium season on March 12 with programming on “Defining the School to Prison Pipeline: Education, Housing, and the Criminal Legal System.” Featured speakers include Valerie Slater of RISE for Youth and Rodney Robinson, 2019 National Teacher of the Year. Registration is open.
