Richmond Law Announces 2025 Commencement Speaker, Alumna Stephanie Grana
Stephanie E. Grana will address University of Richmond School of Law graduates during the law school’s Commencement ceremony in May.
Partner of the personal injury law firm of Cantor Grana Buckner Bucci, Grana received her J.D., with Cum Laude honors, from the University of Richmond in 1993, and previously earned her B.A., with Magna Cum Laude distinction, from the University of Richmond in 1990.
With a proven track record of securing fair compensation on behalf of clients, Grana has obtained more than 85 verdicts and settlements of over $1 million.
She is an active member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the Virginia Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, American Association of Justice, and the Commonwealth Community Trust board of directors. She currently serves as the Secretary on the board for Community Brain Injury Services, and served as a member of the Boyd-Graves Conference for 13 years.
Grana is also past President of the Virginia State Bar, Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the Virginia Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Lewis F. Powell, Jr. American Inn of Court, and the Metropolitan Richmond Women’s Bar Association. She also served as the Chair of Commonwealth Community Trust.
Often selected to teach other lawyers on various topics, Grana’s expertise has led to her to serve an invited three-year term from October 2023 to September 2026 as a faculty member for the Virginia State Bar Harry L. Carrico Professionalism Course.
In addition to Grana, Tom Barkin, president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, will address University of Richmond graduates during the undergraduate Commencement ceremony, and Giff Breed, president of Pros Inc. Management Group, a sports and entertainment marketing firm, will address Robins School MBA graduates when they are celebrated in August.
