The Richmond Criminal Justice Forum (RCJF) is a new co-curricular program at the University of Richmond School of Law created for the purpose of inspiring and equipping students to pursue fulfilling careers in the criminal justice field. Directed by Professor Dave Johnson and supported by a student advisory board, the RCJF also serves the larger law community by providing engaging programming on a host of criminal justice related topics that foster important discussions about issues that impact us all.     Career Opportunities with the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy

    Thursday, September 25 from 12-1pm in Room 128

    Melanie Foote, Education, Recruitment, and Strategic Planning Director for the Kentucky DPA will be on campus to interview students and also will be the featured speaker at a lunchtime RCJF event. Kentucky has an exceptional PD system and HIRES 3Ls A FULL YEAR BEFORE GRADUATION!

    Monday, September 29 from 12-1pm in Room 102

    This lunch time panel will feature 2 elected Commonwealth’s Attorneys and 2 Chief Public Defenders talking about their respective careers and offices.

    Wednesday, October 22 from 12-1pm in Room 102 

    This event features 4 Chief PDs talking about internship opportunities and the path to a PD job.

  • November

    PD STAR Internships

    Wednesday, November 12, 12-1pm in Room 128

    This event features 3 Chief PDs from “STAR” (Small Town and Rural) Internship offices. This unique partnership between the VIDC and the Law School pays students up to $7500 to spend the summer working in a STAR PD office. All STAR PD Offices will be invited to send representatives to conduct interviews with interested students.

    Monday, November 12, 12-1pm in Room 102

    This event features a panel of elected CA prosecutors talking about internship opportunities and the path to a CA job.
