Michelle Heck is the Associate Dean  of admissions at the University of Richmond School of Law. Prior to joining Richmond Law in 2019, she spent 13 years as the Director of Admissions and Financial Aid at the University of Missouri School of Law, where she worked in admission, financial aid, and student services. She earned her BS in marketing from Union University and her MA in educational leadership and policy analysis at the University of Missouri. During her time in law school admissions, she has served as Vice President and President of the Midwest Alliance for Law School Admissions (MALSA) and on the Planning Committees for the Midwest Association of Pre-Law Advisors (MAPLA) and MINK Law Day (a law fair sponsored by the law schools in Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas). In her participation with the Law School Admission Council, she has served on the Annual Meeting and Educational Conference Planning Work Group, Services and Programs Committee, and Information Systems Division Advisory Group, as well as on many forum panels. She has served as well as chaired the New Admission Personnel and Faculty Members Workshop Planning Work Group. In addition, she is currently serving on the 2019 Newcomer's Committee.

JorgensenJay Jorgensen, Director of Admissions

Jay W. Jorgensen is Director of Admissions at the University of Richmond School of Law. He received his bachelor of arts degree from Colorado College and a doctor of jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law Houston. He has worked in law admissions since 2008. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Jorgensen worked in higher education administration at the University of Texas at Austin. In his position, Mr. Jorgensen manages the admissions process, from recruiting prospective students and evaluating applications to facilitating decision-making with the admissions committee. From September to November of each year, he travels the entire country and personally meets thousands of prospective students at law fairs and forums, admission panels, and one-on-one interviews. Mr. Jorgensen is actively involved with the Law School Admissions Council and currently serves as chair of the Misconduct and Irregularities Subcommittee.

IbanezRosanne Ibanez, Assistant Director of Admissions

Rosanne DeGuzman Ibanez is the Assistant Director of Admissions at the University of Richmond School of Law, where she was a student manager of the Carrico Center for Pro Bono & Public Service during law school. After graduating with honors, Ms. Ibanez accepted an appointment from the Supreme Court of Virginia to serve as Magistrate in the 14th Judicial District where she also became certified in Court Management and Crisis Intervention. During her tenure, she created and presented educational programs about criminal law to police academies and public schools. She was also a two-year recipient of research grants from the Department of Criminal Justice Services and the Office of Violence Against Women. Just before returning to Richmond Law, Ms. Ibanez clerked for the Honorable Marla Graff Decker of the Court of Appeals of Virginia.

MethenyBrandon Metheny, Assistant Director of Admissions and Enrollment Analytics

Brandon Metheny is responsible for the coordination of admissions data, as well as the recruitment and counseling of prospective students.  Prior to joining the School of Law in 2014, he attended the School of Law, and graduated in 2014. He also worked in news production at WVEC and at the Virginia Zoo, both in Norfolk, VA. A lifelong resident of Virginia, Mr. Metheny brings his institutional knowledge, experiences as an alumnus, and skill in compiling and analyzing data to the Office of Admissions. Mr. Metheny received his undergraduate degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Maryland – College Park and his Juris Doctor from the University of Richmond.
