J.D. Status Checker & Glossary

Below are terms to assist you with the Applicant Status Online (ASO). Use the username and password you received from the admissions office in your introductory email when your application was received.

Application Complete

Your application is complete and ready for review. There is nothing you need to do.

Application In Review

Your application has been sent to the admissions committee. Once it has been sent to the committee, it could potentially take 3-4 weeks for a decision to be made.

Application Received

Your application has been submitted successfully! If it is complete, it will be sent to the committee to beign the review process. If it is incomplete, more information will be available about what items are still missing. 

Application Withdrawn

You have requested to remove your application prior to receiving a decision from the admissions committee.

Declined Admission

You have requested to remove your application from Richmond Law.

Deferred

You have been admitted and subsequently have been approved by the committee to defer your admission to the following year.

Deny Incomplete

You do not have a complete application and despite attempts by the admissions office to contact you, they have received no response. Since the admission committee cannot review incomplete applications, your application has been denied. You may contact the admissions office for more information.

Deposit Paid

The admissions office has received your full seat deposit. This deposit is nonrefundable and is applied toward your fall tuition.

First Deposit Paid

The admissions office has received the first seat deposit. This is non-refundable and will go towards your fall tuition. A second deposit is due at a later date.

Future LSAT Date

Your application indicates you are taking an upcoming LSAT. The committee has reviewed your application and is currently awaiting the new score.  Your application will be reviewed again once the new score arrives.

Incomplete File

Your application is currently incomplete. Your application will not be reviewed by the admissions committee until it is complete. These items could include LSAT scores, official transcripts processed by LSAT, or letters of recommendation.

Wait for Spring Grades*

The admissions committee has decided to wait until your spring grades are available to make a final decision. Please make sure to send an updated transcript when it is available

Waitlist

The admissions committee has placed you on the waitlist.

Withdrawn from Waitlist

You have been removed from the waitlist per your request.
