Waitlist Updates

Thank you for your continued interest in Richmond Law. We know that being on a waitlist is tough under the best of circumstances. During uncertain times, waiting can be an even bigger challenge but we remain committed to maintaining meaningful contact with you and supporting all our applicants at every stage of the admissions process. You’ll have questions along the way but here are answers to some of the more frequent ones.

  1. While we are constantly reviewing waitlist files, we do not know the exact moment we will be making offers. We will send updates electronically as we have them, so be sure to monitor your email. We will fill all open seats until the start of Orientation on Monday, August 19th. This means you could be admitted at any time between now and mid-August. Offers are made as admitted students withdraw and seats become available.
  2. Richmond Law automatically reconsiders applicants with new scores after every LSAT administration for the purposes of both admission and scholarship. Applicants are given the benefit of their highest score and admissions decisions and scholarships are never decreased for a lower score. If you do not feel like your score is reflective of your abilities, we encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity for reconsideration.
  3. Registration for a future LSAT administration is reflected on your file. We are automatically notified of new registrations and sent new scores upon release. Scores will be reviewed as they become available. We will accept all administrations through the June LSAT.
  4. If you would like to submit updates, including letters of continued interest, they must be sent through your Spider Portal.
  5. Additional letters of recommendation can be emailed by your recommender to lawadmissions@richmond.edu or submitted via LSAC. Please note that we cannot accept recommendations an applicant sends us directly.
  6. If you are still in school, we encourage you to have your university submit updated transcripts to LSAC as soon as they are available. This ensures your file is up to date when the Committee begins reviewing the waitlist. If you have finished school, please check that your final transcript showing the conferral of your degree is on file with LSAC.
  7. If you are no longer interested in remaining on the waitlist, please complete the waitlist confirmation survey so we can process your withdrawal.
  8. The Law School is currently closed to drop-in visitors.  You may only come during scheduled Admission events.  Unscheduled or drop-in visitors will be removed from the waitlist.  Information on prospective student events can be found here.
