Doron Samuel-Siegel

Profile
Doron Samuel-Siegel is a Professor of Law, Legal Practice, at the University of Richmond School of Law, where she has served on the full-time faculty since 2013. Her research addresses structural racism and antiracism in the United States, with a focus on legal pedagogy. She also is the author of a textbook: Fundamentals & Decision Points: An Empowered Approach to Legal Writing (West Academic, 2024).
Professor Samuel-Siegel teaches courses on Legal Analysis & Writing, as well as Restorative Justice. She currently is a member of the University of Richmond’s Inclusive Community Council, whose charge is to shape the University’s systemic pursuit of antiracism. She is the 2017 recipient of the Black Law Students Association Outstanding Community Member Award and a 2019 recipient of the University Distinguished Educator Award.
A native of northern New Jersey and a graduate of the University of the Virginia and the University of Richmond School of Law, Professor Samuel-Siegel served in various roles prior to entering academia. She was law clerk for Chief Justice Harry L. Carrico of the Supreme Court of Virginia; practiced with a firm in Charlottesville, Virginia; and directed the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank’s charitable food distribution programs, serving food-insecure residents in a 12,000-square-mile region of central and western Virginia.
