    Sara Tandy is the inaugural assistant dean of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging at Richmond Law. In this role, Sara works directly on all matters concerning students from groups historically underrepresented in legal education and the legal profession. They also work to ensure that the School's curriculum and programs align with its mission to prepare students to become lawyers who can navigate a diverse, multicultural world.

    Before joining Richmond Law, Sara served as an employment attorney with a large Richmond-based law firm and a small boutique firm, providing advice and counsel on a range of matters – including claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other employment disputes.

    Sara holds an undergraduate degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and a J.D. from Richmond Law. They are an active member of the Virginia Bar Association, Virginia Equality Bar Association and hold a Senior Certified Professional certification from the Society of Human Resource Management. Sara is the President-Elect of the Virginia Equality Bar Association.
