Richmond Law Celebrates Order of the Coif Inductees and Student Scholars

From cryptocurrency to domestic violence and transgender policies to combatting non-native snakes in Florida, students at Richmond Law have a wide range of scholarly interests. These interests took center stage this week as nearly two dozen members of the Class of 2023 were recognized for publishing articles on these topics and more in academic and scholarly journals.

The recognition took place during the school’s annual Order of the Coif celebration of academic and scholarly accomplishments. Regarded as one of the highest honors a law student can receive, membership in the national honor society is extended to graduates who earn a J.D. and hold a grade-point average that places them in the top ten percent of their graduating class. Richmond Law established its chapter in 2012, and is one of only 87 law schools of the nation’s 203 to hold a charter.

“We are exceedingly proud of our students’ accomplishments,” said Wendy Perdue, dean. “Whether it’s excelling in the classroom or contributing to an ongoing body of scholarship surrounding a particular topic, we’re delighted to celebrate all that our students have achieved.”
