Exploring the Future of Antitrust & Procurement Fraud Enforcement

The University of Richmond Law School recently hosted the Virginia Bar Association's seventh annual White-Collar Criminal Law Forum. This year's event, "Not Your (Great) Grandfather's Sherman Act: Antitrust & Procurement Fraud Enforcement in 2023 and Beyond," brought together legal experts, scholars, and practitioners to shed light on the evolving landscape of antitrust and procurement fraud enforcement.

Several Richmond Law alumni served as panelists throughout the day, including Laura Anne Kuykendall, L'11, an associate at Troutman Pepper with a rich background in white-collar law, who provided a fresh perspective on the nuances of these complex cases. She was joined by Michael Sawers representing the U.S. Department of Justice and Brent Jutus of McGuire Woods.

Megan C. Rahman, L'98, of Troutman Pepper participated in the “Practical and Ethical Considerations for Joint Defense Agreements" panel, which explored the ethical, practical, and strategic considerations when counsel seeks to enter a JDA. She was joined by Charles James Jr. of Williams Mullen and Robert Wagner of Robert J. Wagner, PLC.

The event was rounded out by a keynote presentation by Daniel Glad, Director of Procurement Collusion Strike Force of the U.S. Department of Justice.
