Award-Winning Scholarship
Professor Joel Eisen’s article “Utilities With Purpose,” co-authored with Professor Heather Payne of Ohio State University, has been selected as one of the five best environmental law articles of the year by Vanderbilt Law School and the Environmental Law Institute.
This recognition is part of the Environmental Law and Policy Annual Review (ELPAR), which honors outstanding scholarship in environmental law through a rigorous selection process. The article was chosen from among hundreds of law journal publications from the past year.
“I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to contribute to meaningful conversations in environmental law and energy policy, and honored that this work continues to resonate within the field,” Eisen said.
Originally published in the Florida Law Review, a condensed version of the article will be featured in the upcoming edition of ELPAR, alongside commentary from leading policy-makers and practitioners. Professors Eisen and Payne were honored at the annual ELPAR conference in Washington, D.C., where they participated in a panel discussion with the commenters.
This marks the second time Prof. Eisen received this honor. His 2012 article “Residential Renewable Energy: By Whom?” was previously recognized by ELPAR.
